🚀 5 Months of ISLOPOL – From Concept to Operational AI in Madeira’s Waste Sorting Line

5 months ago, we set out an ambitious goal: transform how Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) waste is identified and recovered in Madeira.
Today, we are proud to share a major milestone in the ISLOPOL - Island Loop for Polystyrene Circularity projet:

- Development and full deployment of our AI- powered computer vision system at ARM ´s waste sorting facility;
- Real-time EPS detection and classification directly on the sorting line;
- Beginning of operational validation in a live industrial environment.

This is more than a tecnical achievement. It is a concrete step toward retaining EPS locally, reducing plastic incineration, and accelerating Madeira transition to a true closed-loop circular economy.
